Transparent logo filter plugin ver0.13
Logo analysis plugin
by MakKi
(Translated by Maverick Tse, 23rd Dec, 2013)
———————————————————————–

[Function]
Remove semi-transparent logo.
This plug-in does not work by blurring.

[Installation]
Copy the two auf and the ldp files into the .\Plugins folder of AviUtl.
Launch AviUtl. A dialog will popup asking for a ldp file. Select the one you have just copied.
(The plugin will only ask for the ldp file once after installation, unless the file goes missing)

[Usage]

Part 1: Logo analysis
=======================
1> Have a video file ready, for optimal result,
— select an anime broadcast from a TV station
— OR any broadcast with frequent occurance that the TV logo appear against a uniform background.
— having at least 5 minutes with motion.
Cut away sections where the logo is nearly invisible or does not exists.
Conduct deinterlacing and denoise if necessary. (delogo should be a downstream operation in editing.)

2> Load the video into AviUtl
3> Open up the following setting dialogs [Settings>...]
Logo analysis
Transparent logo
4> Tick the check box on the top right corner of Logo analysis dialog.
5> Set “Width” and “Height” to a positive number
6> Adjust “Pos-X” (horizontal) and “Pos-Y” (vertical) so that the top left corner of the little square match the top left corner of the logo.
7> Adjust “Width” and “Height” again to enclose the whole logo within the box.
8> Adjust “Threshold
— For inconsipicous logo, the default 40 or even lower will be fine.
— For bulky logo, a value >100 may be required.
9> Click on the analysis button at the bottom to start the analysis
10> If no error or warning is given, in the result dialog, give this logo a name. Save it, and click on “Send“.
Then “Close”.

Part 2: Logo removal
=======================
1> Using the same video or a clip from the same TV station, at the same video resolution and after the performing
all the processing as for the clip in Part 1(e.g. deinterlacing/denoising, etc.), load it/append it into AviUtl.
2> In the Transparent Delogo dialog, tick the top-right checkbox, while uncheck the same box in the Logo analysis dialog.
3> Ensure that “Delogo mode” is selected.
4> Adjust “Opacity” to your taste. Usually a value from 120 to 130 will do. If none of the setting seems satisfactory, you may need to re-run Part 1 with a higher “Threshold”.
5> Encode the final video to Avi/MP4/MKV
[File> Export AVI](for AVI) OR [File> Export with Plugin>(x264/QSV/VCE/x265)] (for H264 types)
6> Apply further blur or further processing using AviUtl/other software if necessary.

Note: Applying delogo on a frame with no obvious logo will have the opposite effect. Use the “Profile” function or split the video in chunks.
